Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in seafreight imports and exports within the freight      forwarding industry.

  • Must have experience handling the full operational process from A–Z.

  • Strong knowledge of FCL and LCL shipment procedures.

  • Good understanding of customs documentation, shipping procedures, and Incoterms.

  • Experience working on freight forwarding systems.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.

  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

  • Good understanding of shipping line procedures and port operations.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

  • Matric certificate required.

  • Relevant freight forwarding or logistics qualification will be advantageous.

Job Overview

  • Handle full seafreight import and export files from A–Z.

  • Coordinate FCL and LCL shipments from origin to final delivery.

  • Liaise with shipping lines, transporters, depots, warehouses, clearing agents, and clients.

  • Arrange bookings with shipping lines and monitor vessel schedules.

  • Prepare and process all relevant import and export documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations and shipping requirements.

  • Track cargo movements and provide regular shipment updates to clients.

  • Process cargo releases, framing entries, customs documentation, and shipment status reports.

  • Handle shipment estimates, quotations, and costing.

  • Ensure accurate invoicing and profitability on all files.

  • Resolve shipment delays, operational issues, and client queries efficiently.

  • Maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, agents, transporters, and customers.

  • Ensure all deadlines, vessel cut-offs, and KPI requirements are met.

  • Assist with operational reporting and general administrative duties.
